Magic Lantern Firmware for the Canon 5D MkII
I don’t dare install the firmware myself, but a lot of the features presented here are very exciting (especially the manual gain option, which also apparently reduces picture noise dramatically in video), and I hope that Canon is listening up and working on a updated firmware in the near future for the MkII.
JJ Abrams and a 5D MkII
During the above interview with filmmaker JJ Abrams, there is a break in productions where Abrams gawks over the camera they are using to film the interview. The Canon 5D MkII. We find out Abrams actually owns a MkII and really likes it. Abrams and crew dialogue about the gear which is being used including the mattebox and Redrock Micro follow focus. Nerdtastic!
I thought this post was peculiar. Apparently Canon employees are forbidden to sit, and must keep a steady walking pace while working. I mean, is it really that uncommon. Do you see Starbucks employees sitting down while they make you coffee? Just saying…
